CREAT3D at Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Exhibition 2022

From Tuesday 8th February to Thursday 10th February, the team at CREAT3D brought Additive Manufacturing to Farnborough, showcasing the latest and best 3D printing technology at the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Exhibition 2022.

CREAT3D's Co-Founder and Director of Marketing, Sabina Gonzalez-George, gave a recap of the event:

"What a busy 3 days at Southern! The team and I loved being back at our local trade show at Farnborough, after 2 years out. Thanks to everyone who was able to stop by our stand.

Myself, Simon, Sachin and Matthew were excited to be talking about Additive in the flesh again. As usual, we had a huge variety of conversations; From how to prototype before expensive tooling mistakes! To enhancing R&D and reducing outsourcing costs. Through to needing 3D printers for bespoke tooling and those setting up new production lines in EV manufacturing sites.

Thanks to all our existing customers that stopped by to say hi too! It was great to chat to the team from Curtiss Wright Sensors UK and their colleagues at the Industrial division. We enjoyed conversations with our friends down at Evolve Dynamics who are doing fascinating work with drones. The team at CREAT3D always enjoy hearing how our customers have maxed out the use of their 3D printers.

Coincidentally, our team on Stand E275 were placed right next to our friends at Sempre Group, who were using 3D printed parts from their Markforged 3D printer, in action on their metrology equipment. It was great to see our technology being used for end-use components, and see in person the difference that Additive Manufacturing has made to Sempre Group's operations.

The applications we discussed with visitors to Southern Manufacturing 2022 covered a huge array of Additive technologies. From high strength composite printing on the Markforged for tooling and jigs, through to fine detail from the Formlabs SLA and SLS machines for models and end-use parts, to super-fast printing with the Nexa3D for instant product developing and great prototyping & R&D capabilities with the Ultimaker FFF 3D printers.

It was also good to meet the Engineers of the future, in particular chatting with engineering students and teachers from our local UTC Reading. Our CREAT3D team is expanding again with new engineering roles, so it’s really rewarding being able to engage with local students and help them build a career in such an innovative industry.

We can’t wait for the next industry show at MACH in April. Join us at the NEC Birmingham from Monday 4th - Friday 8th April, we’ll be on stand 17-614.

Feel free to bring your applications and example parts – we are happy to chat through how Additive can help!"
