3D PRINTING FOR

EDUCATION

ATTRACT AND EDUCATE THE NEXT GENERATION OF ENGINEERS WITH ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES

As Additive Manufacturing becomes an integral part of businesses across many different sectors, an influx of young professionals with specialist skills are needed in the workforce.

Investing in leading Additive Manufacturing technologies attracts and achieves student excellence, developing invaluable skillsets aligned to industry.

“Engineers are good at generating solid data to underpin designs, but I want to see more who use this to push the boundaries, who don’t mind failing fast and cheap with 3D printers in our workshop, so we get it right on the plant. I’m looking for engineering students to be creative and innovative and for them to be proud of that. To get that, I need engineers who have done this before and I would love to see more young engineers bridging this gap as part of their degree, something I have found to be relatively limited in current university degree programmes.”

“Moving forward, universities and colleges should have more 3D printers alongside traditional engineering equipment of lathes, CNC and turning machines. We are moving into a world of new technologies in manufacturing and it’s important for the workforce of our future to have Additive Manufacturing in their skillset.”

You may already have adopted Additive Manufacturing to some degree, but whether you have none, a single printer, or a farm of 3D printers, the focus is continuous advancement in Additive

CREAT3D offers a range of value based packages for all levels of Additive adoption.
Invest in robust technologies using advanced software platforms in composite and metal (non-powder based) 3D printers from
Markforged and ultrafast production 3D printers from Nexa3D to elevate your University’s capabilities

“The Markforged Mark Two exceeds traditional manufacturing. With added functions like embedding nuts, we are able to produce better designs, faster. The team can take more risks in producing designs without limitations, and it means we are no longer reliant on machine shop schedule. The printer has changed our workflow and now life without it would be tough!”

Additive Manufacturing is omni-present in Industry.

To innovate, Industry requires new talent that is already skilled and experienced in using Additive.

“With the way Additive is across Vestas globally, it would really benefit us having graduates with Additive skills, not only to drive strategy but to have Additive in mind when designing.”
